Tiwaiwaka Wines is a partnership between Morton and Elise Anderson who are committed to making handcrafted premium award winning wines.
After spending 5 years in South Australia working in the wine industry and developing a 10 acre vineyard, Morton and Elise returned to NZ and purchased an established vineyard in Martinborough in 2002. Their philosophy is very hands on in the vineyard to produce the very best fruit that can then be fermented into premium wine. The vines have been closely planted so they are low yielding and on a trellis system to maximize the warmth from the ground.
Regular plunging during fermentation with extended maceration and gentle basket pressing produces wines with great depth of character, smooth on the palate and full expression of the fruit.
