Never Forgotten: The Marines of Masterton – Special Screening
After sold-out shows in May 2025, we’re bringing back Never Forgotten: The Marines of Masterton for one more special screening in Martinborough!
This feature-length local documentary tells the story of the United States Marine Corps’ 3rd Defense Battalion, who were stationed at Solway Showgrounds in Masterton in 1943 during World War II. Director Mark Pacey explores the Marines’ visit, the deep connections they formed with the local community, and their lasting legacy—including the journey to constructing a memorial in their honour.
Presented by Waifilmfest in partnership with Circus Cinema, Restaurant & Bar and the Wellington Historical Festival 2025, this is a unique opportunity to experience a powerful story of history, community, and remembrance.
